Samsung to Provide BT with WiBro System
September 02, 2005
Starting October 2005, Samsung will provide BT (British Telecom) with equipment for WiBro (Wireless Broadband) services, including a mobile WiMAX pilot system and IMS (Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem) technology. This is the first time the WiBro system is being adopted outside of Korea. Currently, Samsung is in talks with six companies overseas about the provision of WiBro testing equipment, including Japan's KDDI. Samsung has also successfully demonstrated hand-over technology that allows data to be transmitted during commuting at the 4G Forum held in Korea.
